It is the center of Romanian media, culture, and art, showcasing a mix of medieval, neoclassical, and Art Nouveau architecture reflected in beautiful landmarks (the Palace of Parliament, the Arch of Triumph, the Romanian Athenaeum) and parks (Herăstrău Park, Cișmigiu Garden).
If you arrive early, consider taking a stroll to the Primăverii Palace or experiencing a unique tour in Romania’s iconic car – the Dacia 1310.

Today, after breakfast, we’ll explore the capital city. Bucharest is captivating due to its unique combination of history, vibrant culture, and modern life. The city boasts impressive landmarks, such as the Palace of Parliament, the Romanian Athenaeum, and the Arch of Triumph, reflecting its architectural and historical richness. The Old Town is a magnet for tourists, with its cobblestone streets filled with restaurants, cafés, and bars, blending a bohemian atmosphere with the energy of nightlife. The Palace of Parliament, also known as the People’s House, is one of the city’s most impressive and controversial symbols. Built during the communist regime under Nicolae Ceaușescu’s leadership, the building is the second-largest administrative building in the world (after the Pentagon) and the heaviest building on the planet. This megalomaniac masterpiece was primarily created to house the state’s political institutions and stands as a testament to the regime’s grand ambitions. Covering over 330,000 square meters, it features hundreds of rooms, luxurious conference halls, and imposing corridors, adorned with marble, gold, and precious wood, all sourced from Romania’s own resources.
In the evening, we will enjoy a traditional dinner at Carul cu Bere restaurant.
This is one of the most famous restaurants in Bucharest, known for its spectacular architecture and rich history. Located in the Old Town, this iconic venue opened in 1879 and quickly became a popular attraction due to its unique atmosphere.
Renowned for its traditional Romanian dishes and artisanal beer, the restaurant attracts both locals and tourists from around the world. It’s the ideal place to savor authentic Romanian specialties like sarmale, tochitură, or cozonac in a vibrant, historic setting. Carul cu Bere is more than just a restaurant—it’s a cultural experience that transports you back to Bucharest’s past.
